AbSec – Caring for Aboriginal children and families
The Aboriginal Child, Family and Community Care State Secretariat (NSW) (AbSec) is a not for profit organisation dedicated to protecting Aboriginal children in out-of-home care and raising them strong in culture and identity.
THE CHALLENGES AND SOLUTIONS
AbSec and the Sydney Roosters formed a community partnership to celebrate the NRL Indigenous Round and promote Absec’s work to a wider audience.
TEN ALPHAS was asked to produce a video promoting this partnership that would be shown on the big screens at Allianz stadium before the Sydney Roosters game during the Indigenous Round.
Ahead of the big day, we went to Allianz Stadium to film interviews with a couple of AbSec’s inspiring youth ambassadors, as well two Aboriginal Roosters players – Grant Garvey and Latrell Mitchell.
On game day, AbSec spent time in the stadium forecourt before the match, running activities to celebrate Aboriginal culture and pride – face painting, sand painting and didgeridoo playing. Uncle Max Eulo also performed a smoking ceremony on the field before play commenced and AbSec’s youth ambassadors were invited to watch the match from inside the players’ enclosure. TEN ALPHAS was there to capture the spirit of celebration of the day in an event highlights reel.
The client was very pleased with the videos we created for them, and have asked TEN ALPHAS to produce more videos for them!
“Nick and his team bring a level of superior experience and professionalism. The planning process was thoughtful and exciting, and the delivery has been spectacular. To say we are over the moon with our end product is an understatement. Thank you Ten Alphas.”
